Brittany Runyon
Founder & Certified Trainer
Hi, I’m Brittany Runyon, founder and creator of Recess, a training facility specifically designed for kids and young athletes. As a kid, I competed in figure skating, soccer and track at a high level, which required additional coaching and training. As a child/tween/teen I often felt uncomfortable at a big gym amongst mostly adults.
Watching my own kids grow up competing in sports, I realized that there is a need for supplemental fitness and skills training for young athletes. Going to the gym as a child or even teen athlete can be incredibly intimidating, not to mention the risk of injury with equipment misuse.
Kids need a safe, comfortable place to train without the pressures of a large gym. A place where they can build not only strength, but confidence in their skills and positive body image. That’s why I transformed my passion for fitness into my mission to help kids of all ages live active lifestyles. In 2022 I became a certified personal trainer through ISSA ( International Sports Science Association).
